Marc accepts Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and UnitedHealthcare (UHC). You can contact us directly to confirm coverage for your specific policy.
Currently, all sessions are conducted virtually.
Marc began practicing psychotherapy from a foundation of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), which remains central to his practice because it is a proven method for treating various conditions. He also incorporates a more integrative approach, Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB).
IPNB considers the biology of the brain, neuroscience, and other ideas, like systems, attachment, and psychoanalysis. This "biopsychosocial" approach helps counselors and therapists understand a person's entire well-being.
Shawn is trained in multiple treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), and trauma approaches (PE), like the Connect Attachment Program, the Attachment Regulation Competency (ARC) framework, and the Collaborative Problem Solving model. He is also trained to provide readiness hormone and surgical assessments through for World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).
The initial session is 50–60 minutes. Once your appointment is confirmed, you’ll receive an email with details about your session and documents you can review and sign before we meet.
After your first appointment, we’ll work together to create a plan for future sessions and schedule your first follow-up. You can reschedule or cancel appointments by contacting us directly or accessing your online account. Treatment length varies by individual, but most people attend between 6–12 sessions. The length of treatment is always a collaborative decision between you and your therapist.
Appointments must be canceled or rescheduled 24 hours in advance to avoid cancellation fee.
